The purpose of the reviews is to verify property data, which includes the grade and condition of the property, as well as verifying features such as the exterior finish and any additions made to the property.
Property assessment data reviewers are required to carry photo ID, which will be openly displayed at all times. Data reviewers may be able to verify property data from their vehicles. Should the data reviewers need to leave their vehicles to further inspect a property, they are required to wear a green safety vest that reads "Property Assessments." They will also display their photo IDs. Data reviewers may also use orange safety lights to identify their vehicles while on busy streets or roadways.
Property owners do not need to be present for the review process. In the event that data reviewers need to measure the square footage of a property, they may knock on the door of the property to notify the resident. If no one answers the door, the data reviewer will measure the exterior of the property.

Brian has been a newspaper columnist in Pittsburgh for more than 20 years. He won the Associated Press Managing Editors of Pennsylvania and also the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers. Keystone Award for column writing. He has also received regional honors. He will present his new book, "The Paris of Appalachia," about Pittsburgh in the 21st Century.
Doug is the Post Gazette\'s Backyard Gardener and co-host of the popular radio show, The Organic Gardeners. He works as producer, writer and on-air talent for WQED-TV\'s On Q program and fills the same role for NPR affiliate WYEP radio. He has just released his third book "Tomatoes, Garlic and Basil." and has co-authored two others, "Grow Organic" and a "Gardener\'s Journal."
The authors will present their books and a question and answer period will follow. Signed copies of their books will be available for purchase.

Built by William Dickson soon after the Indian Treaty of 1795 was signed, the Log House is one of the oldest structures north of the Ohio River. In 1983, it was discovered under layers of siding at a home at 12 Western Avenue, near the current site. The Ben Avon Area Historical Association (BAAHA) was founded in 1984 to help save the structure.
Today, the Dickson Log House stands as a unique and permanent reminder of the western movement of people and goods, and the pioneering spirit of early residents who settled along the Ohio River.
