Ben Avon is fortunate to have a number of local and area residents act in periodic stage performances held at the Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon.  Recent plays have included the "Odd Couple," the "Curious Savage" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner."

The CTP President, Mary T. Smith, says this about her company:

"In high school I had no interest in working with the theater group because of 'stage fright.'  I only started working with CTP because a neighbor who is involved in the group suggested it was fun.  So, I thought I would give it a change, but only working behind the scene.

"Now, several years and plays later I'm still here.  But we can always use more people to volunteer to help in all aspects of the production.  When you watch a movie and see all the credits at the end, do you ever wonder what all those people did? It takes many people with different talents, on and off the stage, to have a successful show.

"If 'stage fright' is keeping you from volunteering with CTP, do not let that hold you back.  Think about working on the Fall production."
